At Triple Boxcars, we craft premium wines using fruit from the most outstanding vineyards in the Napa Valley region. We are best known for our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, a bold, proudly California wine that pairs wonderfully with home-cooked meals. We are also known for our proprietary red blend, new every year, as we explore complex and joyful blends of different grape varietals with a modern California twist, and for an occasional special edition white, when the right grapes whisper to us.

2017 was another incredible year. Our signature Cabernet Sauvignon hails from Greeg Mountain Ranch and starts with cool dark fruit and spices. Rich wild berries, dark chocolate and bold tannins are balanced with vibrant acidity and mountain structure. Accessible now, but built for aging. Enjoy with braised steak ribs or lamb shank or keep it simple with a grilled steak.

The 2016 season was dry and hot with exceptionally low yields, resulting in dense, structured fruit. Our selection from Picture Book Vineyard is carefully layered with ripe fruit, bold tannins, and balanced acidity. Aromas of sweet oak, black cherries, and cassis, and flavors of blackberries, dark chocolate, and spice.

The 2015 growing season was the most challenging in the last several years, resulting in a lower yield, but showing an extraordinary intensity and depth. This year’s selection from Broken Rock Vineyard is built to last…full bodied with big tannins and a long finish. Aromas of blackberries, butterscotch, and anise, with flavors of dark fruit, black cherry, and spice. Full bodied with plenty of grip and length.

For 2014, Triple Boxcars partnered with Stagecoach Vineyard, one of the world’s greatest growers. A super early harvest from a long dry season yielded a luxurious, rich purple Cabernet Sauvignon. Concentrated berries and dark chocolate on the palate, black fruit and crushed rocks on the nose, with muscular tannins balanced by a vibrant acidity and decadent finish.

For 2013, we rolled the point again with this amazing Cabernet, which combines the inky depth and complexity of Broken Rock with the bright acidity and high toned aromatics of Rutherford Bench. There’s something for everyone to like in this unique wine. Aromas of mocha, blackberries, cassis and anise, and flavors of dark fruit, vanilla, and spice. Full bodied with coarse tannins, a complex palate, and broad mouthfeel.

Triple Boxcars is our name for rolling “12” three times in a row in craps. It is very rare, but if you bet big at the right time, it makes for a huge payout and an unforgettable night. Like the game of craps, this Cabernet Sauvignon is best enjoyed at a table full of friends and family. Of course, lucky strangers are welcome too. Full bodied with polished tannins, flavors of dark fruit and spice with aromas of blackberry and tobacco.

For our annual proprietary blend, we hit several numbers in a row and won access to make an exclusive Cabernet Sauvignon. Our Fire Bet ended up polished and smooth, with a nose of vanilla bean and anise and a mouth full of cassis and dark chocolate. Rich and lush with balanced tannins, it pairs well with a wide variety of flavors and cuisines.
2016 Don’t Pass

61.5% Merlot, 33% Sangiovese, 2.5% Petit Syrah, 1% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc
For our 2016 proprietary red, we bet into our most complex and superb Tuscany-inspired offering so far: no less than 6 varietals complement each other in our Don’t Pass blend. Earthy, with polished tannins and balanced acidity. Aromas of dark fruit, anise, and cocoa, and flavors of mocha, black currants and wild berries.

We went big with our first proprietary blend! Starting with a beautiful Zinfandel, we rolled the dice until we hit the Midnight Proposition. It was a winner with us and we think you’ll love it too. Try it with pulled pork, duck confit, deep dish pizza, or dark chocolate.

Our inaugural Triple Boxcars wine – an uncommon and flavorful Pinot that announces itself and our new venture with forward and balanced fruit. This Pinot is no shrinking violet, and it pairs well with heartier foods.
